Overview
Use this procedure to send a Foureyes audience to Meta (Facebook and Instagram) on a schedule. Foureyes makes a Custom Audience in the dealer's Meta Ad Account and refreshes it each time the workflow runs.
The procedure has three steps:
Build and save an audience in Audience Builder.
Configure a Meta destination.
Make a workflow that sends the audience to the destination on a schedule.
Who does what
Task | Owner |
Audience definition and refresh | Foureyes |
Campaigns, ad sets, creative, ad spend | The dealer's agency |
Foureyes does not get access to Meta pixels, the Conversions API, product catalogs, Pages, campaigns, or billing.
Before you start, get these from the agency or the dealer:
Meta Business Manager ID. The Business Manager that owns the ad account.
Meta Ad Account ID. Use the group-level ad account for a group audience. Use the rooftop ad account for a rooftop audience.
System User access token. A long-lived token for a Meta System User (a non-human service account) in that Business Manager. The System User must have advertiser access to the ad account and permission to create and update Custom Audiences.
Step 1: Build and save an audience
An audience is a saved set of filters. It updates automatically when new data comes in, so the Meta audience stays current.
Log in to foureyes.app.
Use the organization selector at the top of the left menu to select the dealer or group.
In the left menu, select Customers > All Customers.
To filter the list, do one of these:
Type a description in the box Describe the audience you want to build (for example, "leases ending soon").
Select Add Filter. Select a Column, an Operator, and a Value. Then select Add.
For a group, use the All Dealerships list to select one or more rooftops.
Make sure that the contact count is correct.
Select Save Audience and give the audience a name.
Your saved audiences show in Customers > My Audiences.
Notes
A contact must have an email address or a phone number to be in an audience.
Saved audiences belong to the organization. All users on the organization can see, edit, and delete them.
You can use AND, OR, and nested filter logic.
Step 2: Configure the Meta destination
A destination keeps the Meta credentials. You can use one destination in many workflows. You can make more than one Meta destination, for example one for the agency account and one for the dealer account.
In the left menu, select Connections > Destinations.
Select Create New Destination.
Type a Destination Name. Use a name that you can find easily in workflows (for example, "Meta | Agency Account").
Optional: type a Description.
Under Destination Type, select Meta (Facebook & Instagram).
Select Continue.
The Connect Meta dialog opens. Type the Ad Account ID and the Access Token. Then select Connect Meta.
Caution: Do not delete a destination that a workflow uses. If the token stops working, the workflow cannot send. Get a new token from the agency and update the destination.
Step 3: Schedule the workflow to Meta
A workflow connects one audience, one schedule, and one destination.
In the left menu, select Workflows.
Select Build Your Own Export Workflow.
Under Data Source, select Add Data Source > Foureyes Saved Audience. In the Saved Audience list, select the audience that you saved in Step 1. Select Save Changes.
Under Triggers, select Add Trigger > Time Based Trigger. Set the Frequency: Daily, Weekly, or Monthly. Set the Run Time and the Days of Week. Select Save Changes.
Under Actions, select Add Action > Export | Meta. Select the destination that you made in Step 2.
Type a Workflow Name. You can also type a Description.
Select Save As New Workflow.
You must complete all three fields before you can save. Many workflows can use the same audience or the same destination.
What Foureyes sends to Meta
Foureyes sends only hashed contact fields. Meta uses them to match your customers to Meta users. Foureyes hashes each field with SHA-256 before it leaves Foureyes.
Field | How Foureyes prepares it |
Lowercase, then validated | |
Phone number | Digits only, US format |
First and last name | Lowercase, split into first and last. Middle names are removed. |
City, state, ZIP, country | Each field separately. State is a 2-letter code. ZIP is the first 5 digits. |
Foureyes removes duplicate contacts before it sends the audience.
If a field is missing or not valid, Foureyes does not send that field.
If a contact has no valid field, Foureyes does not send that contact.
Foureyes does not send vehicle data, purchase history, behavior data, or internal IDs.
Where the audience shows in Meta
The agency finds the Custom Audience in Meta Ads Manager, on the Audiences tab. Each time the workflow runs, Foureyes fully replaces the audience members. This removes contacts that no longer match the filters.
The agency can use the audience for retargeting, for suppression (for example, to exclude recent buyers), or as the source for a Lookalike Audience.
