Connecting Google Reviews via Apify

Collect each store's Google reviews on a schedule with Apify, so you can bring them into your Foureyes reporting

Written by Cameron Dieter

Overview

Google reviews matter to every store, but they live on Google, apart from the rest of your data. To see reviews next to your leads, sales and follow-up numbers, you may want to bring review data into Foureyes and keep your reporting in one place.

There are many ways to solve this problem. One way we recommend is Apify: a simple tool to set up, run and manage data collection from websites and APIs, without writing code.

Here is how it works:

  1. You list your stores by their Google Maps links.

  2. Apify collects the reviews from each public Google listing, on a schedule you set (for example, once a day).

  3. Apify saves the results as a dataset: rating, date and link for each review, plus each store's total rating and review count.

  4. Your AI assistant brings the reviews into Foureyes. You give it a starter prompt, and it builds a reviews view next to your other Foureyes reporting (step 6).

Before you start

You need:

  • An Apify account. Apify bills you directly; Foureyes does not.

  • The Google Maps link for each store you want to track.

  • An AI assistant (for example, Claude) connected to the Foureyes MCP. See How to connect to the Foureyes MCP.

Cost: the Apify Google Maps Reviews Scraper charges per review it collects. As of November 2026, its pricing page lists:

Apify plan

Price per 1,000 reviews

Monthly fee

Free

$0.60

$0 (includes $5 credit)

Starter

$0.45

$19 (includes $19 credit)

Scale

$199 (includes $199 credit)

Business

$0.30

$999 (includes $999 credit)

Each run can collect older reviews too. Set a review limit to control the cost (step 2). Check the current price on Apify before you start.

Steps

1. Find each store's Google Maps link

  1. In Google Maps, search for the store.

  2. Check that the name and address match the store. Groups often have stores with similar names.

  3. Copy the link to the store's listing.

  4. Keep a list: store name, Foureyes store name, Google Maps link.

2. Set up the scraper in Apify

  1. In Apify, open the Google Maps Reviews Scraper (by Compass).

  2. Enter the input:

    • startUrls: one entry for each store's Google Maps link

    • maxReviews: the most reviews to collect per store in one run (this limits the cost)

    • language: en

  3. Save it as a task, for example "<Group name> Google Reviews". One task covers all stores in the group.

3. Run a test and check the results

Apify needs one run before you can schedule it. Run the task once, then open the results and check that you have:

  • One set of results for each store

  • A star rating and a published date for each review

  • A link to each review

  • Each store's total rating and total review count

If a field is missing, stop here and check the scraper's input before you schedule it.

4. Run it every day

  1. Create an Apify schedule for the task.

  2. Use a daily cron time, for example 0 6 * * * (6:00 every day), in your group's time zone.

  3. Turn the schedule on. New Apify schedules start turned off.

Apify sends you an email by default if a scheduled run cannot start.

5. Note where your results are

  1. Open the results of your last run and note the dataset ID. You need it in step 6.

  2. Run the task a second time. Check if the dataset ID is the same as after the first run. If it changes on each run, contact your Foureyes team before you go on.

Keep your Apify API token private. Do not paste it into shared documents, chats or web pages.

6. Bring the reviews into Foureyes

Open your AI assistant (connected to the Foureyes MCP) and paste this starter prompt. Fill in the parts in <angle brackets>.

I collect Google reviews for my stores with Apify. The results are in Apify dataset <dataset ID>, updated once a day.

Using the Foureyes MCP, add a Google Reviews view to my Foureyes reporting for <group name>. Match each Google listing to my Foureyes stores with this list: <store name, Google Maps link>.

For each store, show: all-time rating, total reviews, new reviews this month, and the average rating of this month's reviews.

Rules:
- Before you show a number, tell me how you calculate it and show its value for one store. Wait for me to confirm it.
- Do not put my Apify API token anywhere others can see it. Find a safe way to read the dataset and tell me what you need from me.
- Do not show reviewer names.

The assistant asks you to confirm each number before it adds it. Check one store against its Google listing before you share the view.

Privacy and data notes

  • The results include reviewer details. Reviews are public on Google, but use store-level numbers in your reports and leave reviewer names out.

  • Data is up to one day old. With a daily schedule, the results show reviews up to the last Apify run.

  • Ratings can differ slightly from Google. A rating calculated from the collected reviews can differ a little from the one on the Google listing.

  • Your Apify account owns the data. If you stop the Apify schedule, the results stop updating.

Troubleshooting and FAQ

A store has no results. Check that the store's Google Maps link is in the Apify task, and that the last scheduled run finished.

A store shows the wrong reviews. The Google Maps link points to a different listing. Fix the link in the Apify task (step 1 and step 2).

The results stopped updating. Check that the Apify schedule is still turned on, and that your Apify account has credit.

Can I add a new store later? Yes. Add its Google Maps link to the Apify task. Then ask your AI assistant to add the store to your reviews view.

The assistant cannot read my dataset. Tell it the error, and contact your Foureyes team if it still cannot connect.
